Re: Back on the road again

Well done Ken. Disappointed with the leak past the oil seal. Tricky to fit that cover without the proper seal protection but I thought I had done it ok with the protection and care I did use. Are you looking for a belt primary drive for the Leader. That would help with clutch plate replacement as th...

Re: Back on the road again - NOW SOLD

Sold to a new owner from Buckinghamshire. Came this morning from near Oxford and rode the bike home without even trying it first. He's not a previous Ariel owner but intends to keep this in its current un-restored condition, only carrying out some minor repairs on rusty areas. I hope he will enjoy i...

Re: For Sale: Oily Rag 1960 Ariel Leader...... SOLD

Sold to a new owner who has not previously had a Leader or maybe even an Ariel.

He came this morning from near Oxford and rode home on the machine. Very brave I think but I've had not cry for help so I hopes he's got home OK.

Re: Wanted Arrow Kickstarter shaft

Re: Wanted Arrow Kickstarter shaft

Why would you buy the wrong part and have to weld part of it to your old shaft when you can buy the proper part from Drags?

Re: Back on the road again

I took the Leader for a longish run today, trebled its mileage since last time out and no trouble at this point, except for the front tyre which could do with being a bit more round. Did a trip from Gretton to Oundle and back to discuss a matter concerning my Jag E-type restoration. The car is just ...

Re: 1962 Arrow Engine rebuild

Even though a bit late and no further input from John White, I would like to comment here having recently had similar difficulty. It is absolutely essential to have the N/S cover fitted first to position the N/S crank half: that is having its axis of rotation correct as provided by the fixed bearing...

Re: For Sale: Oily Rag 1960 Ariel Leader......

Mileage increased to 42871 after a ride round our valley with no problem, including some reasonable hills.

Started very easily after what? 4 weeks stationary.

Re: Back on the road again

I cannot say as I like the look too much but it does look a lot better for having a good clean up.

You can own this one if you like, Paul.
