Bronze guides supplier

Can anyone think of a jobber who could supply solid core bronze guides for Ariel alloy heads? I want to bore the centres myself.
Thanks

Re: Gearbox cover

Awesome, Alan :D For one, that most likely means that any gearbox with no cable hole has got to be for a W/NG. Unless there is another rare anomaly. Have you ever seen the underside of the plug? Wondering if it is a flat disc, say 1/16 in thickness or does it have a shaped bottom underside? Is it tu...

Gearbox cover

Re: Gold Star big end

We get rid of the crowded rollers and put an alloy cage in with liner to suit. If sending patterns , confirm the crankpin fits are OK as we will match them” Yours, CW Alpha did ...

I have a spare pin that needs to be looked at. I’ll ask Alpha about this idea before having them restore it to Ariel specs.

Gold Star big end

In 1967 I bought my first Ariel. It was a stripped down 48 VH with alloy mud guards. I was informed by the owner that he had installed a Gold Star big end as he said that it was superior to the standard Ariel bearing. Being 16 and not understanding what he was talking about I just smiled knowingly. ...
