Ralph, Looks like you have got it sorted...as you have found tightening the acorn nut fully first is the correct way (this is the method written down in the owners instruction manual). Oh and re the speed the dynamo turns at: Mag gear has 58 teeth and is driven at 1/2 engine speed Dynamo gear has 22 teeth so turns 2.6 times for 1 turn of mag gear So dynamo is driven at 1.3 X engine speed eg: Engine 2000 rpm X 0.5 = mag gear 1000 rpm X 2.6 = dynamo gear 2600 rpm = 1.3 X 2000 engine...
