Re: Jaap Fijma racing headquarters in the 30's

Thanks Leslie,
Brenton, that registration number was at that time the one belonging to Jaap Fijma.
Maybe it is him next to it.
The number he took with him on several of his Ariels.
His '38 ISDT Ariel is still alive and kicking in the Netherlands.

Jaap Fijma racing headquarters in the 30's

This week I recieved this picture after digging around for information on prewar ISDT Ariels. It shows several Ariels being prepared for racing, possibly at Assen. Do correct if I am wrong : In the foreground a Ariel Colt 250cc LG with chromed tank and double(!) knee grips on tank and larger front b...

Re: QD hub dismanteling

Paul, At the off side I dont see any welding marks, the drum side however looks to be swaged on to the tube.
Punch marks are mine for reference.
Best bet will be to remove the off side I think.
Thinking about the needed tooling now..

Re: QD hub dismanteling

Tele front hubs are pressed together so perhaps these also ?
The tube part on a tele front hub is stepped to give a ridge where the drum stops against.
Once the spokes are tensioned there's no where to go for the flanges I would guess.
I wil mark the parts before I take them apart .
