If you are drifting out the guide and you have new ones to insert then here is a little tool I made to assist with this operation on my 1946 VB600 side valve. It will work perfectly for a OHV engine. Hi John, Since Ariel Oil Tanks are probably all made the same way....I split my 1946 VB600 oil tank to cure some bad internal rust and dig out accumulated and hardened grud in the bottom that would not shift shaking with nuts and bolts and kero/diesel or with a sharpened rod down through the filler ...

Mmm, I did some research and I am now not sure Trademe allows overseas accounts.
There is a requirement to have a nz address and phone number so they can verify accounts.
Fraud prevention etc.
If this is true then your only option is to pull a favour from some you know who resides here.

Steven, is there a screw missing on the top of the outer gearbox casing?
right next to the clutch adjuster cap.

just re-read Paul's post and I missed his comment about the clutch lever pivot centre being wrong.
