Free: original parts list books

I received a box of books, with a bike I just bought (thanks Mike). I don't think I'll ever own these type of bikes and it's likely that somebody else might like an original list for their bike. I'm happy to post these to AOMCC members, in the UK, free of charge: 1956 single cylinder models (no cove...

FS: Ariel 350 engine

Complete engine. - 1954 ? from engine number It's not as good as the one I sold last month, but will mostly clean up (You can see where I cleaned part of the crankcase off to check the condition). The timing cover is cracked but probably repairable and the exhaust stub, on the head, is a bit nibbled...

Re: strange cutting out incident

IF the motor is tending to nip up, at the first sign of a slight slowing, pull in the clutch with the throttle at idle. It will stop instantly if it's nipping and also be ready to start by the time you pull up as it will have cooled just enough to do that. IF you are really cracking along the rings...

Re: strange cutting out incident

It didn't feel like a fuel starvation thing .. I've been a victim of the blocked fuel cap vent (on this bike actually), fuel tap vibrating closed etc and they feel more gradual. hey ho .. I'll change the oil and look in the sump plate (it has an oil filter as well) and also check the mag cut out ......

Re: How to seal the timing cover gasket on a KH500

John my friend, Leather is your answer, Are all those outer covers the same? if they are my mate Mick has an outer cover for an 1954 alloy head bike and I'll happily make you one. All my Huntmasters have leather timing cover gaskets and are fantastic. I rub a bit cheap builders silicone between my ...

strange cutting out incident

KH500 Been on the road around 4 years but I doubt I have done much over a thousand miles since .. Going down the dual carriageway at a strady 60/65mph. Oil pressure around 30 psi. Done about 20 miles like this Suddenly slows and then cuts out - in with the clutch and coasted to a halt. Hard to tell ...

How to seal the timing cover gasket on a KH500

Bike's been on the road for around 4 years. Trying to seal the timing cover has been an ongoing problem - I have tried a variety of materials (standard gasket from an original kit, cork, nitrile rubber, thicker gasket material - all with/without a little silicon) . Some fail quite quickly and some f...
