Re: Engine query

Without the factory record, then you can predict from the contract numbers what the engine number might have been based on the position of the frame number in the sequence. As Nev says, engines were swapped in use during the war and those records are long gone (although occasionally they do pop up)....

Re: Charging problem?

My magdyno dynamos do this.
The electronic regulators, fitted inside the original reg boxes, seem to want a bit of current (generated by revving ) to wake up.

Re: Posting multiple identical threads

Unfortunately, the small company that managed our hosting/support has just had it's owner retire. We are in the process of figuring out how to migrate our domain and data to our own account .... Re: WNG 4 sale on Carandclassic

Re: HANDLE BARS

The 7/8" WNG bars are the most comfortable ones I have found. They are wider and higher then standard.
I have them on all my ariels, regardless of age.

I am not sure you can buy a set though .. :(

Re: Engine oil for FH650

You'll get a hundred different opinions. Mine is that older specification 20w/50 is pretty good - SG is still widely available, which contains most of the bits, which get taken out in successive specifications for modern engines. A detergent oil is fine with a filter, keeps your sludge trap and oil ...

Re: Morgo Rotary Oil Pump for Ariel 350-600 Single

Do these still require modification of the cam to be fitted i.e. irreversible ? Their website doesn't say but does let me know that the total price (with VAT and shipping) is any eye watering £216. In my experience, rotary pumps are less prone to blocking because of muck (this occasionally happens w...
