Re: Correct number plate for 1949

PM me if you need the info to use a single filament bulb in the MT110 as both Stop and Tail light - both the Red Hunter and 4G use a well tried system for this.

Paul

I am intrigued by the idea and have PM'd you.

'52 crankcases wanted (TC)

I have nearly all the bits for my '52 VH project except the crankcases that I have are from a later 350. I would really like to try and get everything year-correct so I am after a pair of 1952 VH or VB crankcases (TC prefix). Ideally in usable condition but anything repairable also considered.

Correct number plate for 1949

I have a '49 rigid single which has, what I am told is, a later BSA rear number plate and I would like to fit something more in keeping with the Ariel. I've got three possible replacement candidiates for the numberplate and would appreciate some expert opinion as to the best fit for a '49 single. pl...

Re: Looking for a solo sprung seat

It's a Wassell large universal seat. W-950 is the part number I think. seats.jpg As Wade says the brackets need to be made to suit your tank and frame. I made trial brackets out of 3mm hardboard to get the correct spacing for the petrol tank. I also made two small flat brackets at the rear to keep t...

Re: Looking for a solo sprung seat

The brackets are not hard to fabricate - I used 3mm mild steel for these ones on my VH. I also found that I needed small brackets on the rear to line-up the springs with the frame mounting points.

Re: Kneegrip threads

Thanks for the info Paul,

Shame they didn't bother to use a 5/16" cycle thread rather than UNF but I guess I can live with it.

Kneegrip threads

Last year I bought a '49 single that came with a spare petrol tank that I think is from a prewar 350 but I don't really know. My question is about the knee grip fixings. 350 tank.jpg The front holes are threaded 1/4" 26 tpi (which I would expect) but rear have studs with what appears to be 5/16...
