I havn't used the W/ng for the past two months at least, she is going to Ireland again late August so I thought I would just se if she would fire up yesterday, primed the carb, primed the cylinder [as per Velo procedure] first prod and she kicked back, took a good few more where she kept kicking bac...

thanks for your replies, I hope it isn't the mag but we shall see, I shall go the east route for the time being and carry a toolbox of spare plugs! my friend has given me a B8HV to try, a plug he uses in his 500 iron '39 engine, again we shall see. kind regards

just to be different, the p/o ran mine on diesel detergent oil, he fitted a return oil filter and I have continued with this practice, I have taken her to the Irish rally and Latvian rally as well as quite a bit of running around and club runs, she seems to be quitter happy with this oil. kind regards

thanks Nev, I have to say though apart from plug fouling once a year! I have had no problems with the bike thus far, I took her to the Killarny mountains last year for the Irish rally and apart from crap in the main jet she ran faultlessly, and to Latvia where again there were no problems, as I say ...

Thanks for your reply's, I will keep it on the larger carb if I can, the slide is '3' I have lowered the needle to the top notch, that sounds contradictory, I have no idea what the jet is at the moment, she starts and ran quite well the 6 miles I did yesterday, I will keep an eye on the plug for a w...

hi there, I have a 276/014R carb fitted to the 1942 W/ng, needle no 6 [perhaps 9]slide no 3, she runs very rich and fouls plugs eventually, can anyone tell me what the needle, jetting and slide should be pse? kind regards
