Re: Dynamo rotations - they can be different !!

I just brought the dynamo on my NH back to life last week. As Will said, swap the field coil leads to get it spinning in the other direction and repolarise it. However, one more pointer. On mine, after doing all that, cleaning years of grease, oil and filth after years of use and sitting about, it s...

Re: Sq4 Breather

I did try this once. Thought it was a brilliant idea, as my crankcase breather was spewing out a lot of oil.

The result was it pressurized the tank and lots of oil came out through the cap and made a big mess. And left me calling lots of names to myself for such a stupid idea.

Re: 350 NH float bowl

Hi Johnny, I read about you using a 626 MK1 on yours. I realize you can't check it at the moment, but the exact size and jetting will be important to know before looking for one. Alternatively, I'm sure a monoblock would serve as well. But again I'd be thankfull for some concrete advice on size and ...

Re: 350 NH float bowl

I never had any big problems with the 276’s. I was probably just lucky and just didn’t encounter a rough one, but I know the stories. Anyway, on the NH I wouldn’t mind replacing the original with a more modern one. So what are the recommendations for a monoblock or concentric that work well on swing...

Re: 350 NH float bowl

So on further investigation it seems I have a completely wrong carb for my NH. It’s a 276DK/1AT, which seems to be used for the Triumph 5T Speed Twin. It has a 15/16” bore instead of 1”. The needle jet is marked 107, but can’t make out what is on the pilot. The 1AT refers to the float chamber, which...

350 NH float bowl

Need tour help again. Been progressing with my 1954 NH and just overhauled the carburettor. As you know the inlet on the NH is at an angle and so the float bowl has a twist to compensate the slanted carb. This way it stays level. However, I just noticed The float bowl which came with the bike does n...

Re: VB leaking petrol

I’m not sure how the carb is attached to the head on the VB, but if it has a downdraft (at a down angle to the head), then tickling the carb might be counter productive. The reason is the petrol will flow directly into the cylinder and wets the plug. So, either no tickle and just wait a bit after op...
