Re: Temperamental Leader

A quick up date. The Leader is now up and running thanks mainly to the kind assistance of Colin @ Draganfly, who diagnosed the Non Starting to be down to, No, not crank seals or carb set up, but a build up of excess fluid ( oil and fuel) in the crank case, probably due to the numerous failed attempt...

Re: Temperamental Leader

Hi Roger, since my last post ,and not wanting to prolong the agony of not having a running bike ,I have gone and got a mikuni. Now fitted and signs are good as she started first kick , just waiting on a new throttle cable as the existing one is a bit short leaving the side partially open ( result a ...

Re: Temperamental Leader

Hi Brian, Matched pistons to the timing holes in the flywheel so don't think they have moved out of position , plus have got excellent compression on both cylinders. Re: Temperamental Leader

I have to agree Bob for all it's wrong doings I still cant help but forgive once it's going . Unfortunately I haven't managed to get there yet. I have ruled out the potential fuel issues ( thanks for the pointers from Johnny and Brian) as I filled up with fresh fuel during the test run after fitting...

Anyway over time , as a precaution, I did all the usual stuff , new points , condensers, timing, carb cl...

Re: 1962 Arrow Starting Problems

Hi John, I had a very similar experience with my Leader. The problem for me was solved by replacing both the condensers. A cheap fix if it works.

Change of Contact Breaker base plate

A short while ago there were a number of postings on the benefits of replacing the existing Leader Arrow contact breaker base plate with one from a Triumph BSA twin. I have now acquired a suitable Base Plate and points but, for the life of me, can't find the original topic containing the offered adv...

Re: How to change the oil on a harley

A bit harsh - according to a recent survey 80 percent of Harleys are still on the road

The remaining 20 percent managed to get back ok.
