Re: Another Single Cam Thread

Thanks David, I must check mine again looking at the cams from the same perspective as yours to check the relative amounts taken off my base circle. I have a 3rd cam that is somewhere between the two but will give the drilled gear cam a go first. Still fiddling with my crank shaft endfloat, Waller s...

Re: gearbox outer case

Double check the fit of the kickstarter and gear shafts through the bushes in the cover before fitting them to the inner cover, also you can remove all studs and see if it offers up straight it could be studs are slightly bent it will also allows you to run the covers over a bit of wet and dry paper...

Another Single Cam Thread

I have just started the rebuild on my 1952 VCH engine, I have 3 cams to choose from all are two lobe cams. I have clocked the two below but at only 10 degree steps off the pushrods with no head. The question is which one to use? I am now only going to use a standard JP High Comp piston on petrol ins...

Re: Front Wheel Spindle Size

Thanks Eero,
After posting my question I engaged brain and searched for left hand thread axle and found 1967 BSA B44 looks a close match for lower fork legs and spindle. Fancy a 1967 BSA hub being so similar to a 1950 Ariel!

Front Wheel Spindle Size

Trying to sort a problem, I had ordered a new front axle from Drags and it has now arrived (it was for my 51/52 VCH (51 frame). I find that it is about 20mm shorter than the old axle, and the threaded end is right hand thread about 15.7mm major diameter instead of 14.mm left hand thread on my origin...

Rebuilding Plungers (Spring Compressor)

Hi All, When rebuilding my plunger frame I found it nearly impossible to hold the tension down on the rear plunger springs whilst starting the threads on the retaining bolt. A few bits of 15mmx50mm and 15mmx100 mm together some 8mm threaded rod were chosen as a spring compressor. While looking for m...

Re: ex race NH engine

David, is it possibly a 500 barrel and head on 350 bottom end set up as a short stroke?
