Re: 31340 switch and 308234 clip

Thanks for the reply and photo Mick. My control panel doesn't look like yours. There is no folded edge to allow the tips of the clip to engage; it is just a smooth surface with nothing to grip against. As the bike was largely in bits when I got it, and the original switch had disappeared, I'm not su...

31340 switch and 308234 clip

I've just got round to fitting the new 31340 switch into the instrument panel on my 1957 Huntmaster that I'm rebuilding. I've got the 308234 clip. but can't for the life of me figure out how the clip holds the switch in position. I'd be grateful for any advice, although I know I'm going to feel daft...

Re: stop light spring

Thanks for the reply, Simon. Useless in that it was too thick and I could hardly stretch it at all - almost solid. Also far too short to reach. I've been toying with the idea of making a fitting from 4ba rod with a turnbuckle in the middle to allow for fine adjustment. I'm being lazy; I've got the g...

stop light spring

I'm finishing off a restoration of a 1957 Huntmaster and have a problem with the small spring which connects the stop switch to the brake mechanism. The problem is, I don't have one. I ordered one from Drags and it is completely useless. Far, far too thick and very short. Is there a source for this ...

Re: Huntmaster side stand spring

Thanks for the picture and advice chaps. Hallelujah! How the ******* hell did I miss seeing that? It's there, in all its beauty. Either I take a trip to Specsavers or take up knitting. On second thoughts, Specsavers it is. Heartfelt thanks.

Huntmaster side stand spring

I've just fitted the side stand to my 1957 Huntmaster but can't see an obvious place to hook the other end of the return spring to. Could anyone give me a steer? Thanks, Frank

Re: Wanted-front mudguard for 57/58 Huntmaster

Hello Michael, I'm interested! I've left you a voicemail but if you could give me your home address I'll get a cheque in the post. Alternatively, I could do a bank transfer that would save you time in trailing to the bank.

Thanks, Frank

Wanted-front mudguard for 57/58 Huntmaster

The front mudguard from the Huntmaster I'm restoring is beyond repair. I know it is a long shot, but does anyone have one for sale? Contact Frank on 07709 936436 or email f.p.beevers@gmail.com..

1957 Huntmaster front stand

I'm assembling a 57 Huntmaster from several boxes of bits. It is going very well so far but I have hit a snag. I've just fitted the front mudguard and tried to fit the front stand. I find that it is too short to pass under the mudguard and up into its bolting position. I've just checked the spares b...

Re: WANTED: Huntmaster clutch parts

Thanks Paul. I'll bear that in mind. I'm doing a trial fit today to see if there are any problems before I activate lock-washers.
