Brian you could save your Ural alternator , and use one from a Kawasaki GPZ 900r or 750r water cooled from around the mid eighties you can pick them up quite cheap on Ebay

After a year of tearing my hair out, I realised that square 4 cylinder heads were a candidate for Marginal gains philosophy. I had the cylinder head and barrels skimmed, all stud holes and fixing surfaces machined. All studs replaced by 303 stainless steel plain studs. All nuts replaced by head down...

Brian , in the Ariel Knowledge base , Square four alternator , Item 759 , I have one from Bennet and its fantastic , cant think of a better word for it

Gui , Drags have complete gasket sets for MK1 complete with super OTTO head gaskets in stock at this moment according to their website ,part no--GS101-49

Are any of your cylinder liners protruding above surface , it looks like a bad crack in photo 4 to the left . I had oil leak problems that I couldnt cure , I had the head and barrel skimmed , head was warped and 2 liners were above the surface , just done 100 miles retorqued twice and its oiltight a...

I think it is water resistant , because when its wet and water comes in through the Dyanes wind - screen seal and bulkhead , the clock steams up and still works for the last 4 years ,anyway I will fit one to my Sq4 and see how it goes
