I got lost for a bit there, life keeps getting in the way and I had to disappear on family matters for a week. I am delighted that the thread is being enjoyed and followed by at least a few of you and am sorry that I never met your Dad Leslie, I know he was much respected and a stalwart of the club....

I never made it due to the weather, how did you do? Ah Wali, the weather, we can all blame the weather! I am! It annoyed me that I couldn't support my suggestion that King's Acre Road was the venue outside Hereford but after a search through my stuff I found a report that confirmed it. 4th April 1925, a speed trial event won by I.P.Riddoch on a 998cc Zenith averaging 94mph and crossing the finishing line at...

I think they used a section of King's Acre Road, the A438, west of Whitecross, there is a photo somewhere on the internet that I have seen and I tried to identify the position once but gave up. I am afraid that I can't back this up with any reliable source now, just something out of my memory and th...

Re: Twin Square 4 engined car

Exiting Pardon is a strange place to change gear though  Well Wali the intention had not been to change gear through Pardon, it was more a matter of re-engaging after it had jumped out of gear all on its own, this is a problem that I appear to be encountering increasingly, methinks an explor...
