Exactly. I just hadn’t seen those mudguards and brackets before, they put repro stuff to shame

Date of registration just means date first made road legal anyway, so could differ from manufacture date if bike lay unsold in a dealers

Engine and frame are both 52 also, maybe it competed for a few years first ? Log book says it had a sidecar originally. Love those mudguards and their brackets, I’m presuming they are genuine ?

My first field bike in the early ‘80s was a Capri 80. My mates dad had a Bantam Bushman and the Capri, he wouldn’t sell the Bantam but I gave £30 for the Capri, and scrambled it til the frame broke. I still have the handbook for it somewhere

S & T Nickel plated my HT frame and swing arm 2 yrs ago, about £400 if I recall. It’s been left dirty for days on end and had dozens of jetwashes without ill effect

I didn’t examine it enough really, I was on my way out carrying 3 gallon of oil when I spottted it. The inlet port was solid from the outer face but the valve seats were in but un-machined - ie not all the port was solid. I didn’t even look at the exhaust side from outside
