Re: Rigid rear Stand - issue

Fit a mud-flap on the rear guard and fit a spring clip to that to hold the stand?

Re: FH Carburettor Configuration?

Personally I reckon if the carb was way out it would do it more frequently than now and then. Do the plugs look alright?
Sticky inlet valve or worn guide?
Worn slide?
Poor fuel?

Re: W/NG on Ebay

I think I'd have to go one way or the other with it. Looks a weird mix as it is. Bearing in mind how expensive WNG forks are I think I'd strip the rack, pannier, headlight mask and petrol cap surround (not something I've seen before) off. Then paint over the stencilled number and run it as a fun, mo...

Re: New Restoration -

Looking at the info on the Draganfly site the numbers & date indicate it was from a batch of 3,250 sent to the army depot.

I tried to find more info on my 1940 bike but it seems there is little you can trace re their service history or movements during the war.

Squariel

Just in case you were wondering where the name "Squariel" came from - apparently Dennis May thought of it first.

Re: powdercoat disaster

I've seen adverts in immediately post-war mags for reconditioned WNGs offered in "polychromatic blue" - sadly with a line drawing rather than a photo. I'd guess there were quite a few sold but I've never seen one in real life (has anyone?) as its an obvious thing to restore WNGs to wartime...

Re: Won’t start after hot

Agree about the mag - a big spark always helps - but it does sound like its flooding. I doubt the mag is cooling much in the time it takes to swap a plug. I find mine starts well from cold (tickle & choke & smidge of throttle) and hot (no tickle, no choke) but after a run then being left for...
