I was watching a film on youtube about the cannonball run. Great stuff. However a chap with repo forks on his Brough had them break. The investigation showed they could have sheared at any time so he was lucky he was going slow when it happened. Different design but you never know what quality metal...

Fit a mud-flap on the rear guard and fit a spring clip to that to hold the stand?

Personally I reckon if the carb was way out it would do it more frequently than now and then. Do the plugs look alright?
Sticky inlet valve or worn guide?
Worn slide?

I think I'd have to go one way or the other with it. Looks a weird mix as it is. Bearing in mind how expensive WNG forks are I think I'd strip the rack, pannier, headlight mask and petrol cap surround (not something I've seen before) off. Then paint over the stencilled number and run it as a fun, mo...

Looking at the info on the Draganfly site the numbers & date indicate it was from a batch of 3,250 sent to the army depot.

I tried to find more info on my 1940 bike but it seems there is little you can trace re their service history or movements during the war.
