Concentric carb on a Mark 1 square four

What is the best slide and main jet to use on 626 concentric carb that’s fitted to a mark 1? Currently I have a number 3 slide and a 150 main jet, and it seems all right-ish, although i only gave it a quick test. I heard that a 3 1/2 slide and 160 might be better? I have the Solex carb, but it’s bee...

Re: Spotted on the Exeter trial.

Great that the Ariel made it to the end.
Ian, were you spectating or participating?
As someone who lives in Exeter, I really should go along to either Fingle or Simms Hill next year to spectate.

Re: CLUTCH SQUARE 4

I would guess that nearly every square four that is still in use shows some historic “wear and tear” similar to what you describe. After 60 years many have had at some point a loose clutch basket or misaligned primary cover....... Pictures would help here, but until sight of the damage I suggest you...

Re: Square 4

If you are after an early Mark 2, this is on eBay - nothing to do with me. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F184102854752 Looks mostly standard, but the front wheel has been changed to the later full width alloy hub. Sounds like a lot of work has been...

Re: Square 4

Nothing is showing on their website as a Square Four, so difficult to say without any information.

Re: Square four swing arm help

From the centre of the gearbox pivot bolt, to the tip of the bottom rail at the front is 468 mm. This was measured as the horizontal displacement between the two.

It is, not surprisingly the same as my standard square four.

Re: First day out

Hello Paul, what a nice bike. Well done. Are the wheels of your bike both 19"? On my swingarm square the back wheel was 18" in the first place resulting a very limited groundclearance when cornering. When I changed to 19" in the back it was perfect. I still have a 2nd swingarm Square...

Re: First day out

That looks great! Out of interest, has the frame been lengthened, or has the primary chaincase been shortened, to get the engine and gearbox to fit? The frame was lengthened. Whoever did it managed it so the frame rail below the tank was kept straight, pic below should show this, and then the squar...
