Re: Simes' FH Rebuild

Yes I think so. With the help of a large leather faced pinger.

Next stop, the chain oiler. Does this pipe routing look OK?

It goes to the rear-most pipe from the oil tank, right?

Re: Simes' FH Rebuild

Look at this guys. Quite a bulge, and nothing like the clearance Mick has:

Re: Simes' FH Rebuild

Thanks Bob. I'll take a picture of mine to compare - I think it is less flat than yours...

Re: Simes' FH Rebuild

Thanks for these Mick - mine measures up more or less exactly to yours.

Next question, is the back of your oil tank flat or does it bow out?

Re: Plunger suspension ride height adjustment

Are those wishbones really higher at the back than at the front Phil? If so, there's something wrong.

Mine are not far from level, but they are definitely lower towards the back. Perhaps the springs are wrong or have collapsed?

Re: Simes' FH Rebuild

You can see the existing joggle here, that goes around the bottom of the oil tank

Meanwhile, I used a step drill to cut the hole for the chan oiler, per Mick's dimensions:

Fits nicely; two more repairs to weld in:

Re: Simes' FH Rebuild

Hi Simes Are you sure your OT is as per original, (based on the horn fixing)? Regards Mick Thanks Mick - no I'm not. Could you have a look at your toolbox for me a measure the distance from the back of the box to the back of the bottom bracket? I know the oil tank is contributing to the problem, si...

Lucas MCR2 Wanted

Chaps, anyone got a dead voltage regulator they don't want? I have an MCR1 to trade; I want an MCR2 to house a modern regulator.

Re: Simes' FH Rebuild

This afternoon I've trial fitted the rear mudguard. It doesn't seem to have any clearance between the guard and the back of the oil tank, and the toolbox is actually pushed outboard about 1/2" in this picture. I might just squeeze it in a bit, or maybe put a shallow dog leg each side. IMG_20190...
