Re: Square Four MkI - first rides after restoration

Gui,
the stays for the valanced mudguard should be ca 27 cm between centers, the stays for unvalanced guards ca 29,5 cm.

Re: Square Four MkI - first rides after restoration

Hello Gui, thats a very nice Mk1. Congratulations. When I looked at the photos of your outing, it seems that the 2 front mudguard stays are too long compared with the red Mk1. Too long stays result in an uptilting mudguard. There are 2 different lenghs, the one for the valanced guard and the other f...

Re: SpAriel MkII aka The Hermanator

Hello Vincent
the one of the two of the bolts shown could be a H30-56 pinch bolt to hold the headlamp cowl to the lower fork yoke.

Re: New VB piston

Mike, the new piston had been adapted from a raw casting for FN sidevalve engines. I don't know exactly which FN engine type was used. Yes, my posting from 2015 you are referring to is correct. It took a while before I ordered this new Piston as I had hoped to find a propper original oversize Ariel ...

Re: New VB piston

Hi Knud,
its a normal container that originally had a kind of hand cream in it. I reused it putting normal grease in it. It was just the right height for taking the photograph.

New VB piston

Now I received a new piston made individually for me. It had to be made to special order because non of the usual sources c...

Re: FOR SALE : 350 MF Sloper. 1931

There is a gearbox available in Berlin at the moment. I am not sure if this is the correct box for the MF. If anybody is interested in this gearbox I can offer to get in touch with the seller and assist in a purchase. But so far I do not know the seller! Regards Klaus. https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen...

Re: SpAriel MkII aka The Hermanator

Hi Vincent, I ordered a nice saddle for my pre war Ariel some weeks ago from a person in the czech republic. Its of very good quality, all the dimensions to fit to the frame are correct so it should bolt on directly. It has rubber springs instead of metal springs. If you like I can forward some picc...
