1938 ARIEL SQUARE FOUR REAR BRAKE PEDAL LEVER

I have just fitted the rear brake foot brake pedal and rod, the brakes go 'on' fine but the foot pedal does not come fully back to the stop pin and is very floppy and it is not fully releasing the brakes. Re: 1938 ARIEL SQUARE FOUR CLUTCH PUSH ROD

Thanks for your reply Mick, this was my dad's bike who ran it for many years with a side car and still with the original BA gearbox and clutch--Yes the ball is in place and is still too short but the 13-7/16" push rod seems about right.

1938 SQUARE FOUR ENGINE SHOCK ABSORBER

Iam struggling to fully assemble the shock absorber---When I nip up the end nut I can't seem to get the inner splines of the end spring plate to line up with the splines in the crank shaft so I can screw the nut fully home---I noticed that the end spring plate has a recess on the ouside, should the ...

Re: Main bearing in gear cover--1938 Ariel square four

Thank you again Paul---I wondered, with this bearing being outside the main oil flow, it may eventually get starved of oil, but you have now answered my question---Thanks and Regards Ralph

Main bearing in gear cover--1938 Ariel square four

How should the 3rd main bearing be lubricated on initial assembly---(This is the bearing in the gear cover)--- Should this be just oiled or should it be packed with grease.
