Re: Vid on Indian girder forks

These Girders have been advertised - and sold - on eBay for years. I have asked before - who has bought them? It seems hard to believe that no member has ever bought a set.

JOX 99

I have been asked if this bike can be traced JOX 99. It was the guy's father's mount. It seems to be on SORN as 1949 350 Ariel WING

Re: Tony's VNH video

To explain how this originally came into being, I attach a couple of pages of Cheval from April 1st 1994

A rare Ariel design fault

There has been a bit written about rear brakes recently. I have been rereading old Chevals so kindly put up on Cheval Repository by Peter Collings. I attach a a note from our much missed Ralph Hawkins which is worth reading. I once owned such a 1953 Sq4 and it had been restored to pretty original co...

Re: Tony's VNH video

Our webmaster was kind enough to put this up for me when I failed. AOMCC members will have read about it in Cheval, but I will leave non- members to wonder about its provenance for a bit. If I tell you that Tony was responsible for producing the fantastic BTH range of Lucas type Magnetos https://www...

Re: Improving the front forks

Just to confuse you, my 1949 VCH had two springs in each fork of differing diameters.

Re: Square four mk1 frame

Our much missed Vice President Bob Brassington did many miles in his MarkII SQ4. As has been mentioned before, he fitted dampers (Honda?) to improve the handling. On a trip abroad to France, he swapped with my Girder forked 1939 4G for a day. Mine was fitted with sidecar rear springs which had impro...

Re: Real Bargain

I have looked more carefully at this guy and his record. It is inconceivable that Ebay do not realise it is a scam. He always says he is selling for a friend. He advertises his phone no. in the photos. The addresses of his feedback suppliers are all incomplete and often repeated... However when I so...

Real Bargain

I have seen this bike offered over half a dozen times before. Always verycheap. At £6000 it would be a great buy but I think caveat emptor prevails here!
