Mick is missing the clip at the bottom of the lamp which holds the rim to the shell.

Maybe the Czechs can help?

I have a vague memory that the 2-switch vs 1-switch system use a different alternator? I think one has 4 wires and the other has 3. That's just how I remember it and this may not be true.

Just saying in case you are thinking about changing to the 1-switch system.

Update... I have had the head off and can see a bit of carbon where it was blowing (photo below) So I used a bit of fine paste to seat the head onto the spigot but it was clear right away that the fit was already good. The culprit I think was a pair of porky pushrod tube rubbers which were sanded do...
