Re: 1951 Square Four MKI

Very lovely indeed. Just pulled my '51 into the shop this morning for a bit of prep work and it won't look as good as yours but they are a pleasant ride.

Re: Hello New Forum member

Yeah, feel the same way Mark, belong to both clubs and they both have their benefits especially with contacts, but the AOMCC really shines with the spares and sheer amount of knowledge available.

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2019

Hell, we woke up to -20 this morning, most years I would have been out a few times by now but not this winter! We are actually breaking weather records for the coldest February ever.

Re: A chat today was amusing

I am sure I am not the only person who has nurtured a few younger riders along the way. Sold one smaller bike I knew I was not going to get to for a very nominal cost to a father so he could rebuild with his son, great idea I say. I have one of my grandchildren interested but he is only 7 and his mo...

Re: A chat today was amusing

Yes, this is a problem finding someone who cares enough, with 5 children I thought one of them would take it up but sadly no takers. One of my best friends and fellow I build bikes with is in my will to clear up the remains (that's what my wife calls it). If he can't do it then perhaps I should nomi...

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2019

Yes Steven, technically you are further north than I am but here is a bit higher elevation at 550M in the interior mountain range of BC. Today is good with -3 and just a bit of snow. No riding for a month or more yet. Frank ps Sometimes wish my great-grandparents had stayed in Devon, love the Britis...

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2019

Yes, the cold does funny things. Does -63 C in Siberia on the Omolon river count? How about -71 F on exercise above the Arctic circle in Northern Canada, now that one included tracks breaking on APC's and metal on some of the trucks just cracking from stress. Ah, such fond memories.... glad I live w...

Re: A Herefordshire butcher's shop this morning

Nice comparison. I wish I could get out to ride this morning but -2 and another 4 cm of snow on the way puts an end to that thought.
Happy New Year Paul and a good riding season to all.

Re: Is this an Ariel Air Filter?

I am with Royal Enfield as it looks very similar to what is on my Bullet 500. Including the decal.
