Re: Leader Crankshaft Bearing Diameters?

Hello, Re the journal/shaft diameters for the main bearings. The oil seal is a metric item I think , so I assume the bearing may also be a metric size on the inner race at least. 25 m/m is .98425'' which is the diameter of the shaft. I suggested .9843 '' because I prefer to have the bearing tight be...

Re: ALTERNATIVE ARROW REAR SHOCKS

Hi, The larger wheels give a wider choice of tyres, the 16'' tyres are not available in as many makes as they were a few years ago. Changing to 18'' alters a lot of things ie. centre stand ,gears and clearances between tyre and mudguards, so it is not an easy process but it did make the fitting of a...

Re: ALTERNATIVE ARROW REAR SHOCKS

Some more information on the rear shocks and sprocket, The Hagon shocks on the Arrow measure 320 m/m centre to centre. I selected some springs which were just a bit stronger/higher rating than the original ones. The rear sprocket has a 52 tooth ring to make the gearing correct for the 18'' wheels. I...

Re: ALTERNATIVE ARROW REAR SHOCKS

Hi,

It's a long time since I fitted the shocks, I'll have to measure the length tomorrow. The shocks are also available with covers, so they look similar to the original ones. I went for the chromed springs to give the bike a late sixties look.

Re: ALTERNATIVE ARROW REAR SHOCKS

Evening Terry, I put these on my Arrow, they are from Hagon, they come in diffrent lenghts so I selected one which gave me the same length as the originals taking into account the top arrangement. There will be other ways to connect the top fastening to the suspension strengthening plate/frame which...

Re: Further carburation questions...

Hello Davud, The rubber adaptor for the Mikuni carb is normally attached using two allen screws, with a UNC thread. There is not a lot of clearance for the head of the screw so you may need to take a bit off to clear the side of the adaptor. Most of the traders who supply nuts and bolts for classic ...

Re: Arrow Battery

Hi, I've just had a look at my Arrow's battery ,the vent tube, to which a piece of plastic tubing fits , is the bit which catches on the bracket. I cut off the tube and lifted the battery by using a bit thicker rubber mat so the vent is just clear of the bracket. It's work OK for over 10 years . The...
