Your right Paul. It certainly felt as though the compression had gone up after I fitted the 500cc head but the flat top pistons I used made it at least manageable.

The A10 had larger dia. valves and the dia of the combustion chamber would be 70mm the A7 500cc head is 66mm. Without hesitation I would use your alloy A7 head. Externally there is no difference and like I've said I think its better then the "correct" A10 alloy head. There's a huge differe...

I've got another A7 head that I plan to prepare for future use. Certainly looks the same size

I'll do all that Paul. It wasn't that nice with the throttle stuck on. My light switch is my ignition switch. I had to use that to regulate my speed till I could get into the service station. Today riding to work all seemed fine till I wanted to get above 40mph then it just dogged. I guessed correct...

Certainly looks like one but you can tell by the larger valves and the dia of the cumbustion chamber.

I'll give that a crack.
I dont use the mid adjuster as that made it go stiff very quick
