Re: Charging issue with 58 Huntmaster

Hi Nick, If I was you I would start with looking at the dynamo again and checking that. I use a digital multi-meter and have no issues at all with my meter when checking my charging system so don't worry too much about your meter just yet. Attached is a Lucas document which should help you with a vo...

Re: Battery Voltage Monitor

Yes, like Adrian, I prefer a digital voltmeter. Got one on my old (dare I say it !) 1965 Honda which has proved useful. Bought it off ebay from one of the uk based firms that do camping van/caravan supplies. Be careful if you are thinking of buying from ebay as there are loads of very cheap foreign ...

Re: PRIMARY CHAIN ADJUSTMENT

Johnny when you adjust the gearbox position to get your primary chain right (slacken rear chain first with rear wheel adjusters) and then adjust primary, tighten gearbox and adjust rear chain at rear wheel. Remember to unwind the small adjuster that adjusts the gearbox position so it sits firm again...

Re: Ammeters

Simon this should interest you re-ammeters. Mick your FH should have a Lucas CZU27 ammeter with a black face (and no figures). Have a look at the Lucas Ammeter info attached ( Info for the 58 FH shows the same ammeter) :-

Re: clutch plunger

Providing the ball bearing is in the right position, I can't see it making much difference Johnny (particularly if there is a depression in the end of the long pushrod for the ball bearing to sit in). Grease it up and put it back correctly Johnny and it should be ok mate.

Re: rear brake anchor?1958

The rear brake torque arm on my 57 NH, as expected, is the same as Mick D's FH with 6 3/4" between the mounting hole centres Bill.
All the best,
Keith.

Re: Fuel Tap Filter and Pipe

How does the 'Reserve' work Luis ? With the just the filter as you appear to have it, won't the 'Main' fuel tap be supplying all the fuel from the tank ? When you run out with the 'Main' tap on the tank will be empty and there will be no fuel left for when you switch to the 'Reserve' tap. Best wishe...

Re: Address Decal Location?

As Alan has said (and Jerry Mortimer in a previous thread and also in his decal/transfer information), the transfer you are referring to goes on the rear number plate bracket. These are a couple of images of it on my 57 NH, your 58 FH will be the same Mick. I have some factory photos of 56/57 machin...
