Re: Tony's VNH video

Its not producing 78BHP, more like 30BHP but it runs so well and a peach to ride, not a joke no more chaps.

Re: 2020 Annual Rally Sparsholt Cancelled

I think its the only thing to do. The VMCC have canceled most of they're events this year to. Sad as the weather I bet will be like last years.

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2020

Steve, you didn't say if the belt was 25mm or 30mm wide. I had a 25mm belt on my 650SS Norton. This was because of the tin chain case and lack of room. It worried me for a while but it was on for about 10K hard miles and it worked fine. I raced bikes for about 25 years. Lots had belt drives, the tri...

Re: Making the 650 HunterBird

Hi Paul
I had another fiddle today and I think I've cracked it. Everything is close but with carefully altering the rubbers I have managed to fit it on. One of the problems also is the top frame tube is only a little wider than the tank tunnel.

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2020

That looks like a newby clutch Steve. I assume you run a 25mm belt. I almost did the same thing with the HunterBird as I have Newby clutch for the triumph which I have been using and cut the casting away where the clutch comes through. I assume you have no cush drive in the system though. It looks l...

Re: Making the 650 HunterBird

Thanks all for your kind words. BSA number plate then, well spotted. I had no idea. Having done many thousands of miles on s/arm Ariels it will be interesting see how it goes. It must handle better than a late 50's Triumph swing arm frame. The motor is set up with a E3134 inlet and E3325 ex cams. I ...

Re: Making the 650 HunterBird

Today I did as much as I could. I need a Rec/Regulator, battery and wire the winkers in. I have also moved the coils and cdi box under the seat later this afternoon to tidy the front of the tank up. I am quite pleased with the outcome. Sitting on the bike its much lower than my 59 VH and the VNH. I ...

Re: Making the 650 HunterBird

I had a few hours later this morning and managed to lay most of the wiring out on the bike. I'm using std colours as in the book for a dynamo set up. The problem is, I may have said, the headlight is not the right one so I have no main switch. However the Enfield L/H bar switch has the dip and main ...
