Brett, I haven't done any mods, but I am going to on the BA. I've repaired two BA boxes in the past, and am now doing my own for the second time (after 18 years/28000 miles). I have also overhauled my 1952 GB6 box for my KH and am now doing my spare GB to run in my VB until the mods are done on my B...

Rob I have a 1947 iron head VB that I've owned for over 20 years and have covered 28,000 miles on. In the main it has been very reliable. If yours has a BA gearbox I would recommend a thing or two... The 276 type carbs like to vibrate apart occasionally. I've heard it said that exhaust valves are vu...

Yeah Paul! Let's talk about cricket. As you may know Selly Oak is not far from Edgbaston cricket ground, the home of Warwickshire cricket club. Edgbaston is one of the top flight grounds in the UK and usually hosts a Test Match. I'm lucky enough to live only 6 miles from Edgbaston :) and 7 miles fro...

Hi Chris As you can see the Ariel bunch are pretty friendly. I hope that by now you've noticed that we have some really great Ariel activists in Germany. I don't know where you live but hopefully there'll be one not too far away. The German Arielists are an example to us all... Norbert even has Arie...

Re: the above: Remember that these gearboxes were originally all grease. In 1948 with the inclusion of the main bearing oil seal Ariel thought they were producing an oil box. Ha-ha! Soon afterwards the recommendation for 50:50 oill/grease came about because oild peed out of thye kick start and gear ...
