Insurance

Just checking if there is any consensus on who is best to insure the HS sidecar outfit I have. Had a quote from Carole Nash but if you know of any favoured insurers for this type of bike, I'd appreciate it.

Many thanks

Re: HT sidecar combo

Thanks for the info Callum, I'll see what I can find seatwise....

Ah, but I like sidecars, I think this is why this came to me... and I have an old Norton with a Watsonian sidecar too, so I think it's fate! And it's something a little bit different ;)

Yes, I was wondering if that could be traced and how I would go about it. I had a similar bit of detective work with another old bike I have and it produced some very interesting results.

Who would be the fountain of all knowledge for such things in the Ariel world?

Thanks Adrie, I will make sure it's added to my policy at that value, and will check for the stamp between saddle and lugs when next with the bike. Weekend probably.

Thanks for all your help gentlemen!

I'm thinking that those mounts were characteristic of the sidecar framed version, so as not to weaken the centre chair mounting point by having a drilled hole through the frame so close to it, in which case some sort of L-shaped seat bracket will fit better

unless those ARE actually the tank mounts, I am away from the bike at the minute as it's in a relative's garage though I recall the tank being loose, so I will double check on my next visit... you can also see the period-style gaffer taped-on fan belt for the passenger!!!
