Re: Wiring Diagram

If you connect the two alternator wires to gather for a full 12volt doesn't that render the 'emergency' start facility irrelevant if not in fact inoperable?

Re: Frame

Fixed tank mounts at the top? Matchless or early Triumph? I wonder if someone was building a custom and used more than one frame to create this.
And H-D's used that type of gearbox mount.

Hi Jeremy, can't help with the forks but I think you need to post this in the two stroke technical forum. This part is just for help with this website.

Re: Ariel period photos

You may be getting confused with the Wicksteed Triumph recreation that resided in the museum for many years. No longer however, Dick Shepard the current owner has rebuilt it and claims that most of the parts are from the original. He has custody of it. The only Ariel we have is Geoff Brandon's singl...

Re: Arrow Engine gaskets

As an aside, all the major Jap dealers sell their versions of 'Threebond', ie: Yamabond, Kawabond, you get the idea! As far as I can tell they are all the same product. Beware getting it cheap off the 'net, it's usually short dated. I get mine from the local Yamaha dealer, it's not even expensive.

Arrow engine cover question

Hi all, I have been told that the right hand side engine cover on the Arrow was not fitted from the very start but was a later addition. Is this true, and if so from when exactly? Cheers.

Re: Powder Coating frames !!!!!!!

I may have mentioned it before but beware of blasters who use old grit to blast before powder coating. You may end up with rust blasted INTO your frame before it's coated. The most often used reason why you don't powder coat a frame is that if there is corrosion underneath it can literally (over a p...

Re: cleaning off crankcases

Knew a chap a few years ago (Chris Ireland, aka Desperate Dan) who tried the Aerocoat chrome effect when they first brought it out on a custom he was building. Saw the parts in the flesh and I was mightily impressed with how close they looked to real chrome even at just a foot or so away.

Re: cleaning off crankcases

I agree with Keith, I turned a set of Bantam cases a sort of dark grey. I did try selling them as magnesium but no-one fell for it...............
