Re: British Track Bike - what would you build

Just something for track days, don't think I'm competitive enough / fast enough to compete... looks like a nice circuit to ride though, not done it yet, looking forward.

Any suggestions welcome, sound important but would like not to be embarrassed by being lapped too many times either :)

Seems like an awful lot of money to me, but they are pretty hard to come by...

Re: The rebuild starts - 1935 Red Hunter

Didn't do any mods, just put everything back as was, with the exception of a couple of replacement parts. The 'seal' (I think??) was a shim and felt washer of some sort, can't quite remember now off the top of my head... might not have even had a felt washer, just a shim?? I can remember thinking on...

Re: The rebuild starts - 1935 Red Hunter

Just been for the first spin out on the road... superb :D One significant fault though on check-up back home... obviously she didn't like all of the gearbox grease and decided to spit some out (see photo), any ideas why? DSC_0199.JPG Apart from that, not looking too bad if I do say so my self :D ......

Re: The rebuild starts - 1935 Red Hunter

Coincidence or not... removed the gauze altogether, fixed a leak in the rocker oil pipe and changed the oil from 20/50 to SAE 50 - something has worked, seems to be running great now :D not a puff of smoke... Pretty much just the wiring to complete now and I'm away... managed to locate a clutch cove...
