Re: Smiths Chronometric S433/1/L threads

Bob The substitution of 0ba and m6 is not a ” bodge” in a low torque situation. This substitution, along with using a bolt or nut with 1 or 2tpi difference has been taught in our TAFE colleges as suitable practice for low torque situations that are subject to vibration for over 50 years. The practic...

As soon as the engine is started and the alternator is spun faster the noise disappears due as the permanent magnets no longer pull one way or the other on the gear. nothing to wor...

Re: Sleepless Night

The weather conditions changed last night when a southerly change brought winds of 80kmh. The strong wind lasted for just over an hour. I was showered with burnt debris and ash however there were no glowing embers. I was very fortunate that the prior light NW wind did not spread the fire on the nort...

Re: Sleepless Night

Very eerie here at the moment. I cannot see the sun through the thick clouds of smoke. The fire has jumped the Shoalhaven river and is in Tapatalie and north Nowra to the sw of me. Police bully boys have forcibly removed many residents from Tapatallie who were intent in staying to defend their prope...

Re: Sleepless Night

Thanks again for your wishes. Update. Lost power here for a short time but now that has been restored. The smoke haze has reduced due to the wind direction. There are still major power outages south of Nowra to the Victorian border. In some areas mobile phone reception has been restored. I was able ...

Re: Sleepless Night

John Any more information on the Graslan. I can legally remove 3 trees after my final inspection. Previously I would not have had a problem with a tree removal, however 2 days before my Development Application was to be submitted to Council, our Native Vegetation Act was abolished and a new Act, the...

Re: Sleepless Night

Thanks for your kind wishes. Locally the fire threat has eased. While the fires jumped the Shoalhaven river to the west of me, locals on watch in boats on the river were able to advise RFS of the spot fires which were able to be put out. Today temperatures and wind conditions have eased so the fire ...

Sleepless Night

My current home in Meroo Meadow (near Nowra) is now for sale and I am currently building in Bodalla. I have almost finished a large garage/shed that incorporates a bed sitter flat at the rear that I intend to live in while I build my new house. I have been building every weekend for the last 18 mont...

Re: Square Four gearing

It is only when you change the gearbox sprocket or rear wheel sprocket that the speedo becomes incorrect. The speedo gearing in the gearbox is set based on the final drive ratio from gearbox to rear wheel. Changing the engine or clutch sprockets does not affect the speedo.
