Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2017

A little off the current topic Steve but what's down-stream of your engine breather? I routed mine through a pipe to the back of the rear mudguard, to stop oil drops under the engine but I find it's getting slowly clogged up with the coffee-coloured slime - so may just end up going back to the stand...

Re: 'The SpAriel'

Yes, the inner components can be interchanged - I did it myself to utilise a NOS housing with my original shafts which weren't significantly worn. You can see how the end caps are staked into the die-cast (mazak?) housing; from memory I think these popped out quite easily. :-)

Re: Solution to porous castings?

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the responses on this - I'm very grateful! It's quite surprising that bikes as recent as T160s suffer in this way. I'd previously have thought it was just early sand-cast stuff.

Solution to porous castings?

Hi all :-) Has anyone found a solution to oil seeping through porous castings? An...

I spotted that last night... Gotta be a scammer, as it sold for over £10k previously. :-)

Arrow racer with Velocette frame...

This has recently appeared on eBay UK... Not exactly pretty but looks well built. Anyone know the history of this bike (1960s, Castle Coombe)?

Re: '57 Huntmaster- Engine running problems - again

My Huntmaster had similar symptoms - cured by an exchange mag armature obtained via eBay and fairly easily fitted. However, on reflection, I wish I'd gone for electronic ignition because the costs are broadly similar and (with the right installation) you can fine-tune the ignition timing without hav...

Re: Brake Pedal Stop

Clay Jones makes the extended lower chaincase bolt that Nev mentions; it put the pedal in the right position on my bike. :-)

Interesting Square Four on eBay...

I've no connection with this bike but it's got some interesting mods. :-)
