On the forks on Ebay I can see that the -famous for reverse fitting- top links have a rather rounded shape instead of the squared original ones . You know, those with the camfer that goes on the inside because of the rubbing cables there. But not having the mentioned spotfacing down at the axle end ...

after a better look: the intake makes a angle towards the right and a bit up.
Perhaps it's been used in a MkI frame or some other special.

Hello Chris, yes the Comp. ones from M & AJS and also the HT and HS models from Ariel did have these. (all Burman) But, as it says 'Competition' they can go for silly prices. Just watch autojumble stalls and ideally have a loose kickstart spindle with you as there are a lot of them that look o.k...

A lot has to do with what this item is....the front fork. If that goes you are really in trouble, buying a rep. petroltank -like I did- is "mmmmwah", o.k. up to a certain point. You can 'always' leap from your steed if fire breaks out, but a front fork, hmmmmm different league. Although me...

Hello Jay, may I suggest (perhaps you already know) that you convert the rockerbox bolts to the later -courser- thread type. The first alloy heads made by Ariel used the same fine thread as the iron head motors, so threads are easely stripped. regards, Vincent and yes, that's to much for a used head...

Look at all that is gone.
No sheet metal parts at all, it has a Norton (Domi?) front fork, rear cut off frame.
It has been motocrossed, so frame could have been damaged (lower rails)
This one is only for spares. I think

Those later models dont have this thing at the back of the chaincase, as described earlier the chainoil comes from a take off at the oiltank
