Re: Valve Timing Help Required Please 1928 Model C

Think I have sorted it? going to leave it for now whilst the going is good, will check again, the opening/closing detail did it hopefully. I had contradictory info that that all the figures were either when it start or when in final position. the detail from Leejm seems to have sorted it. Will check...

Re: Valve Timing Help Required Please 1928 Model C

Ok; so are you saying on inlet the figure is when it starts to move, but on exhaust the figure is when it actually closes?

Valve Timing Help Required Please 1928 Model C

Having dismantled the engine cases the cam fell out, not to worry I thought until I came to reassemble everything to realise the drive pinion has no 'dot' Now everyone keeps telling me how simple it is, I have read up but I am now loosing the will to live. The degrees or linear movement setting info...

Re: 1928 Model C Burman Q box

Thanks Gents, getting there, your stop arrangements looks slightly different to what I think mine will be once all welded up. Trouble is I am trying to re engineer what I have inherited and there is no clear detail of what it should be. This is slightly confusing as what it should be might have been...

1928 Model C Burman Q box

Would it be possible for someone who has a working Q box to remove the tin cover from the kickstart and send/post a couple of pictures with the kickstart in both extreme positions. I have all the bits and can assemble them but it just doesn't look right. I am wondering if my spring is too big. In th...

Wheel rim sizes and tyres 1928 Model C

Puzzled! my rims appear to be original? but I am measuring the rear at 2 1/2" WM1 and the front at 2 3/4" WM2 this does not make sense having a rear smaller than the front? I am trying to establish exactly what size tires to fit. I took off 19 x 2.75 front and 19 x 3.00 rear, I am happy th...

Re: Insurance

I have been with Footman James for over 25 years, for bikes, old car and house. Last month rang to add my 28 Ariel to the renewal list; I was then subjected to the most ridiculous questions, they stopped short of asking how many doors! They then wanted 50 quid to add the Ariel. I rang Peter James, s...
