Re: Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on a mainly Ariel 2018

Hi Steve, how well does your FH cope in this heat, especially with the lengthhy journies you make.. Mine tends to run a bit too hot for my liking. I believe you have fitted an alloy head and suppose that helps. How was it with the old iron head. cheers

Re: petrol tap

Thanks chaps, but I can now answer my own question. Looking back over my e-bay purchase history 2016 the cheap tap I bought and leaks ( hence my looking for a good s/h one) is 3/8".
thanks again

Re: Head steady tubes.

The ones I bought last year did not fit, the fixing hole centres were too close. When I queried this I was told to elongate the holes to suit!!! This would have rendered them useless in my opinion. I returned them and made some from 1/2" stainless tube.

Re: Sidecar on VG32.

I believe the model was commonly known a 'launch', but I supposed there were several makers. I have seen side-car catalogues on the net so try a search.

Re: bikes excempt from mot a good idea?

I should have thought the onus was on those to prove the machine was in an un-roadworthy condition. The onus is on the prosecution to prove guilt or wrong not on a defence to prove innocence. And, is it not wriiten that an MOT does not prove roadworthiness of a machine, especially some time followin...

Re: Tank bezels

Hi Adrie, its easier if I just refer you to the part numbers as above ( 1958). I'm aware that Drags have them, but, this may sound a little mean of me but I couldn't bring myself to pay that sort of money for for what they are.I'll see what Jerry has. But, being a bit of a mend and make do chap, I m...

Tank bezels

Does anybody just happen to have a spare set of knee grip and round badge bezels for a Huntmaster tank. I know! I know! just thought it s always worth asking. Alternatively, does anybody happen to have any they would be willing to loan me that I may use a pattern.
thanks
John
