How much oil should be found in the sump of a Mk1? I drained 700ml after 9 days sitting. It's early days but like many others I suffer from a smokey exhaust. This may have nothing to do with your problem, but I have been looking at the valve timing on my bike lately. The notes say: "Retarded timing will cause a loss of power at lower revs so the engine will feel sluggish." Did you touch the timing chain?

Started it for the first time tonight. Didn't run for long only 20 seconds or so, conked out when I touched the bi-starter, but a major milestone reached. 45 psi oil pressure indicated. Tomorrow, see if I can get it to idle with the starter off. Need to make sure the battery is charging and reverse ...
