Vehicle Wiring Products do a kit but I haven't used one myself. In general, their products are good quality. They also do all the components.

Hi Dennis. The pistons I got from Keith came with the correct gudgeon pin bushes. These did need a light skim with the reamer but then so would new standard bushes (at least most of the time). I found performance fine without any mods (mine had the 10:1 heads) but then I didn't have much to compare ...

It would be worth charging the battery off the bike and seeing whether it still loses its charge overnight. If so, it's the battery - if not something like the rectifier.

I would start by looking at earths - these can cause all sorts of problems.

If the battery goes flat I'd also be thinking about the rectifier. I fitted a solid state one to my Arrow.

Flight of the Arrow

My Arrow has now gone to a good home (Vic Perrin of this parish) so I no longer have an Ariel.

Hopefully I can still lurk as this is an excellent forum and I did learn quite a lot in my short ownership!

Hi Keith.

Yes, as I had a Commando 850 for 20 years and used it extensively for touring - getting as far as Greece on it - so am fairly conversant with them. But I've now reverted to an earlier love with my current ES2.
