Re: dynamo replacement

Looks similar to the Alton and probably works the same way. I had one fitted to a Velo Venom and hated it. You could hear the whine of the straight-cut gears over the exhaust note - it always sounded as though there was a police car following me - and the regulator was such a poor design it didn't i...

Re: Ariel Arrow points problem

I had a similar problem with my Arrow - its setup looks much like yours. I found I had to adjust the position of the cover carefully to eliminate it. I did try sticking a layer of insulating tape round the inside of the cover but that didn't seem to work for some reason. It does look as though your ...

Re: what type of satnavs are we using?

I don't use one on the bike but for the car have found the CoPilot app for Android much better than the various Garmins etc I've had in the past. On a fairly unpleasant drive from Edinburgh back to Brum yesterday. It said there was heavy congestion round Manchester on the M6 and rerouted us round by...

Re: Sidecars

Can't tell you where it is but DVLA think it's not taxed or SORN so probably hidden away somewhere.

I think Jim Susans is still around - web page here: http://www.bsaotter.com/jim_susans_bikecraft.html. May be worth getting in touch?

Re: Stainless Steel Bolts

Brass nipples on stainless spokes are fine, it's the stainless nipple / spoke combination that galls. I've always found no real problems other other than the stainless / stainless combination although as Paul says you need to select the grade carefully. Ordinary autojumble type fasteners are OK for ...

Re: Square 4 wiring problems

Stop light is usually on the same side as the horn so doesn't show a discharge when operated.
