And, it is a bit funny that the tpm (turns per mile) is about 1609 on most Smiths speedos, which happens to be about 1000 per kilometer...

I'll do a rummage to see if I can source a pair of 0BA nuts then, but a bloke on the FB group mentioned it was M6 cause the Smiths speedometers originated from the Jaeger instruments....?

Smiths Chronometric S433/1/L threads

The threads on the speedo fastening pin bolts, what size are they? I tried with 1/4" BSC nuts, they thread on but are a loose fit.

Further investigations; changed the dynamo gear for an old original one. The rattling, which was intermittent with the other gear, is now continous. My theory; the old, original gear has more wear and teeth clearence, causing rattling/back-lash between the fibre gear teeth/dynamo gear teeth. Back-la...
