Re: cable swager thingy

how do the cable makers solder them up do they dip them in solder Yep, that's the way I do them too. I made a solder pot from a small copper ladle, I heat it with a propane torch and use Baker's Fluid as a flux - no danger of overheating the inner. There used to be a good video on the Venhill web s...

Re: Sq4 MKI blown head gasket

Hi Is it an anomaly with the photo or is there an area of cylinder block face missing where you have circled and annotated No 3? This would be co-incident with where the blow past / damage to the gasket occurred and probably the cause of it. I wouldn't be confident that a new gasket won't be ruined ...

Like the idea of a stud for the seat fixing - will investigate further. As far as I can t...

FH Rebuild Issues

Hi I wonder if I'm missing something or have just not done things in the correct order, but these are a few observations from my rebuild: Seat bolt above the oil tank, I guess the process is to insert bolt then fit the oil tank and struggle to fit the seat - or is there a better way? Magneto bottom ...

Re: Monobloc Float levels

Hi

The quick way to check the level is to put a length of clear tube onto the pilot jet after removing the jet cover and bend it up past the dot on the float chamber cover, turn on the fuel and the level is visible in the clear tube.
