leader rectifier, boffin required

Having taken my bike completely apart I took the rectifier off from the outside. I now realize I should have undone the bolt from inside the frame. The plates all fell apart so I resprayed them. I noticed a couple of the plates had pink deposits around the centre hole. Deeming this to be corrosion I...

Re: Leader tyres & white walls

Hi Brian H, just seen your post on tyres. Thanks for the reply. I managed to get a pair of Mitas tyres and the white walls from Draganfly fitted very well, they look super on the bike.

Leader tyres & white walls

Can anyone tell me where to get tyres for a leader? I have found a rear tyre of an obscure make for just over £40 but can't find a front. Can you still get a ribbed front tyre? Also, what are your opinions on the loose white walls, are they any good?

Re: Leader colours and piston ring gaps

Thanks for that John, mine actually measured 0.072" all the way down. I had one ring seized in the groove and broke it getting it out. I have ordered a pair from Draganfly.

Leader colours and piston ring gaps

Can anyone suggest a good colour match to the 'Ivory' without resorting to RS paints prices? I thought I saw somewhere that ford diamond white was a good match. Any comments on this? Also can somebody tell me the correct piston ring gap?

Cheers, Tony.

Leader engine mounts

I'm removing the engine from my Leader for complete restoration. There seems to be a problem removing the bolt behind the gearbox which holds the swingarm. This also appears to double as an engine mount. The bolt is moving but with considerable resistance. Am I about to break something? The other en...

Re: Leader no spark

Brian H, where would I need to run wires from and to, and would I need to disconnect any existing?
