Crossed Keys is probably one of the most used symbols but CB should narrow it down. Probably too old to be a Claude Butler but Boyd, C. (1898), Calcott Bros & West (1890), Calcott Bros Ltd (1912) and Coventry Bicycle Ltd (1921) might fit. http://oldbike.wordpress.com/7-bicycles-manufactured-in-c...

When you say the dynamo checked ok do you mean that unregulated its giving a decent output? In that case it must be the regulator is defective or adjusted wrongly.

Well you've got yourself a very desirable bike. Presuming its running ok the only problem I can see is that the front saddle mountings look to be missing.
Are you going to get it muddy?

Re: Sq.4 Petrol Tank - Badges.

If your old badges need a new home please let me know. My tank has far more patina (rust) but no badges. I'm not planning on restoring the tank so would like some tatty badges to suit.

Thanks
Peter

I'm not sure of the difference between a sprint and a speed trial but Weston super Mare ran its speed trials on the Beach Road right through to the seventies.
