Could well be 2D so could be a tuppence token.
The other side is blank apart from a tiny B so I was leaning towards an identification plate from a tool or piece of machinery.

About a yard apart in the garden. Also lots of clay pipe fragments and a few bits of big dog.
Paints an interesting picture of previous inhabitants....

Digging in the garden I found these. One is obviously an old RAF button. Anyone got any idea what the disc is from? 42 WFB 2b?

I had the same problem but found that a snugly fitting tube worked well when the fitting was tighten up without securing it. Obviously brazing would be better but as the lug is hollow and the edges frayed you'd need to drill the sides out then braze the tube to the outer wall. I guess the easy answe...
