If anyone has any of the following lurking under their bench please let me know

3. Headlamp switch, ammeter etc
4. Petrol Tank
5. Timing case breather union & pipe

to fit to scruffy 1950 NH350 so condition immaterial.

Re: 1950 350NH basket case

Latest tip. Check the petrol tap is ok before you chuck petrol in the tank! Not the brightest thing I've ever done. Ah well, in other news:- Filed the brake lever (from Bill Little's autojumble t'other week) to fit. My spindle is round with two flats and the lever hole was square. Measure, mark, fil...

Re: 1950 350NH basket case

First, thanks Adrie - the tank mount is perfect and splendidly wrapped in an Ariel t-shirt! Second, thanks to Steve for lugging (haha, see what I did there) it all the way back from the continent. Great to meet you and the Hampshire mob. Will be down again as soon as its on the road. btw, just disco...

The standard bikes are quick enough but you might be lucky and find you have road rocket cams & HC pistons.

Re: 1950 350NH basket case

First off - Thanks Steve, much appreciated. Second - nice guess Simon but no, its a decorative ring from a chubb or yale lock! Engine wise, I'm not stripping anything I dont have to - will get it running and take it from there, if it runs ok I'm in luck - if not I'll just have to drag it apart again...

Re: 1950 350NH basket case

Bit more progress - tought I'd check the basics before heaving the engine into the frame. 2012-05-10-177.jpg Took the engine shock absorber off and found the previous owner wasn't a slave to the parts book! 2012-05-10-178_1.jpg Can you see what it is yet? Looked familiar but it took me a while until...

Re: 1950 350NH basket case

Adrie - that's very kind, I didn't think I'd find one.
& Steve - if you could relay it back to the UK that would be great :¬)

Re: 1950 350NH basket case

Yep, front tank mounting had been removed, somethig else welded on and then that removed. I'll get a new one made up if I can find a tank at a sensible price. I adjusted the speed of the drill right down but even so I doubt I could kick that fast :¬) Gives a reasonable spark flicking it by hand so h...
