Re: Id help please

WIth the dynamo & lighting removed, no silencer and rear-sets added it looks like he intended it for competition use.
Wonder what the engine is like.
Still got a tax disc holder & bulb horn so possibly he rode it to meets.
Would be great to get it running as is :¬)

Re: Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on a mainly Ariel 2018

I really fancy converting an old classic car to electric - cant run to the Jag e-type conversions they are doing but maybe an old 40s or 50s Austin. However - along with the raw materials needed for the batteries, where will all this electricity come from? At the moment the press celebrates when we ...

Re: Can ignition timing jump out of sync VH

Certainly could. Doesn't take long to check - but before you do - have you checked you have the ignition lever retarded?
Its easy to have it advanced by mistake particularly if swapping between bikes where the lever works the other way.
No that I've ever done it ahem.....

Re: D-Day Commute

Sounds good. I've pencilled in for next year joining a friend's trip to Monte Casino (his father fought there) but not sure my back will last that long on a bike.
If anyone knows of an Austin Light Utility going cheap...

Re: D-Day Commute

It was taken at work near Oxford - just commuting in honour of D-Day - although the previous owner had taken it to Normandy more than once. Regarding the field stand lug, please see pictures attached. someone may have more accurate dimensions but: The curved section brazed to the frames is 1 1/2 inc...
