Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2019

Took my WNG out today and had a similar thing. Seems the float needle is sticking so flooding unless its revving.

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2019

That's serious mileage on the old bike, I only manage half that commuting in my car all year!
Hope it all goes well this year, looking forward to reading your continuing adventures :¬)

Not Ariels - but good engineering

I've been watching "Project Binky" on YouTube. Nothing to do with Ariels but re-engineering an old Mini. Amusingly presented and, for me, just the right balance of progress & detail. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHvBHWBzzB7NyU5tIiEZHBg Sometimes its easy to just buy a new part, wat...

Metal in oil filter

Just spotted some bright metal bits in my 350's filter in the tank. I'm presuming it's from the big end but is there anything else I should be looking at?

Re: kh engine rattle

Just cured the rattle on my WNG. Whenever I went over 45mph it sounded like a tappet. Checked them - fine. Then I thought maybe the valve lifter - fine. Then I noticed that the noise went if I pressed my right leg hard against the tank. Took it off and found two things - a couple of the bolts were l...
