There is something to be said for replacing the exhaust valves with new ones designed for use with unleaded petrol. The ends of new valves are hardened anyway so you don't need the valve stem end caps.

Simon, I think you will find an article on my KH in the next edition of Cheval de Fer which includes a description of how I calibrated the equivalent (very similar if not actually identical) valve on that engine. I can't take credit for the idea though, that came from Pete Kemp of singles spares fame.

The VH will run happily on unleaded but I use the Castrol lead substitute and octane booster just to be careful. As Adrie says, keep away from fuels with 10% ethanol content as these can damage your fuel lines, carb, etc as indicated in a recent test by the Vincent Club.
