Thanks Nev. You guys are making me more confident that I can do something with what I've got. The mainshaft is a curious thing though - the part number in the book is 3060G-48, whereas the singles/twin one is just 3060-48. If the mainshaft was different, why did they use this number? Normally you'd ...

So, the objective was I guess to align the gearbox sprocket with a wider rear wheel on the SQ4? My question is how did they do that. Is it the case that between the singles, twins and SQ4 that the distance between the centre line of the gearbox sprocket to the datum at the face of the casing (where ...

That sounds like a winning combination John.

Seeing as I've discovered (or rather confirmed) this little banana skin, and that my Bantam is in bits in the workshop, I think I had better post your front stand! I don't think a trip to Gloucestershire will be on the cards for me this year!

Daft question - I have some depressions in the oil tank of my Square Four: I suspect this one is just damage: http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l599/CharlieCeng/IMAG0251.jpg But I'm hoping this one is clearance for the distributor: http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l599/CharlieCeng/IMAG0250.jpg ...

What happens here?

Chaps, Since restoration projects don't come with instruction books, and I enjoy jigsaw puzzles anyway I like a challenge. But its also nice if there is someone to look over your shoulder from time to time. Could you have a look at this picture: http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l599/CharlieCeng/I...

Anyone see that Burman BA sell on eBay recently?

Despite the number, that gearbox casing is not a SQ4 box is it?

1951 Square Four Burman BA Gearbox

Folks, my SQ4 currently has a 1951 KH gearbox sitting in it's frame - which does not fit.

Desperatly seeking a SQ4 gearbox casing, middle cover & possibly mainshaft!

Gearbox available for swapping.
