W/NG Clutch Plates

Guys,

I read somewhere that W/NGs originally had fabric clutch plates. Anyone seen one? I guess it would be hard to tell, all these years on.

Re: Square 4 MKI - more troubles

Gui, I would wind the pilot adjuster out half a turn - it's too lean in that transition zone. I'm assuming you have cleaned the ports around it and satisfied yourself that the seat is not damaged? Folks,

I read in Peter Hartley's book that Ariel were involved in various non-motorcycle activity during WW2, including 'hydraulic equipment for aircraft'

Do we know of any connection between this work and the post-war appearance of the telescopic fork?

Re: Building up a shaft

I realised after a while, looking at another example of a Honda k/s shaft that their serrations must be rolled in, so about half way through this one I made a suitable undercut. No more chips.

Re: Building up a shaft

Potentially, I am pleased to say that I am about finished with this shaft, having got it to fit yesterday. IMG_20200515_120232.jpg I've made a few observations on blog post I've written about it, but one might be of interest to you John. Thanks for the excellent write up and pictures on your indexin...

Re: Square 4 MKI - more troubles

Have you got the boot on the distributor Gui? I ran without one for a while, and coupled with a fibre washer on the rocker box oil inlet I (eventually) found oil in the HT pots on top of the distributor, which caused a sporadic high speed misfire. Copper washer and heat-shrink boot fitted and all is...
